Trial lawyer Arash Homampour talks about the effectiveness of remote working employees.

We have a lot of employees that work remotely. Its 2018, we’ve had employees work remotely for the last 20+ years. Why is that? Because you don’t need to be in a physical office to be working in a law firm. Everything is paperless, we were one of the pioneer law firms in terms of doing everything electronically. And so, when you don’t need to physically be in an office, I don’t require anyone to actually come into work. I don’t have time cards, I don’t really check what they’re doing, uh, I’m not one of those, you know, uh, micromanaging bosses. I don’t believe that you get the best out of your staff and people that you work with by micromanaging them. So, for me, if an individual can get their work done working remotely, love their life, make a difference, of course I’m gonna have them be part of the team. Because, at the end of the day, it’s the work product, not what they’re wearing, not where they’re doing it. It’s that, you know, they have a good relationship with their workspace and that, uh, they get the job done. You know, there are human beings on this Earth, they need to go to an office to get work done. And then there are human beings on this Earth that love working from home, having the freedom to wake up when they want, clock in or clock out, take care of other important matters. And so, again, if I can get the best of someone in their natural environment, I’m gonna take advantage of that and it’s a win win for everybody. So we’ve been having employees work remotely for, you know, over 15 years and I love it.
