In the 12th video of this series Homampour Law Firm Attorney Arash Homampour is proud to announce his nonprofit foundation – There Is A Light. This foundation will provide grants and mentoring to individuals who demonstrate a need to get to that next level in their life.

Another very, very important part of my existence is sharing and giving back. I believe that if anyone has the opportunity to make money, to live a comfortable life, that they must, must give back and share. None of this is ours. I am not going to leave this earth simply being someone who collected money and consumed. I must be an individual that gave the talents I was given, that took the opportunities I’ve had, and really tried to transform other people’s lives.
I always picture myself as like a candle, and my job is to light as many other candles as I can in this universe. And it sounds hokey, but if you’ve ever met me and you know who I am, that’s literally my motto and how I live this earth. And so I’ve always wanted to start a nonprofit foundation so that I can make a direct difference in other human beings’ lives. So what I’ve done is this year I’m starting a nonprofit called There Is A Light, the title coming from one of my favorite songs from the Smiths, called There Is A Light That Never Goes Out. But this nonprofit foundation is going to be funded with my own money, a substantial amount. Over a million dollars is being put in initially by me, and it’s going to provide basically micro grants of $2,500 to $5,000 to any individual that needs it, where that money can be used to get them to the next level in their life.
So let’s say, for example, someone needs to go to trade school and they simply don’t have the resources to collect or save $2,500 or $5,000, but that amount of money would make a huge difference in their opportunity to get to the next level, to get that trade, to go to law school, to go to medical school, or to do whatever gets them to the next level in their life. And so I’m starting this foundation, and it’s not only going to provide financial assistance, but I’m going to enroll other lawyers and professionals to provide coaching so that we can show anyone that, look, at any time, it’s never too late to decide you want to get to the next level, improve your existence, make a better life for you and for your family. All you need is just the desire to do it, and then maybe some love and help from your friends. And so we’re going to be the friends that provide the coaching support and the financial support so that individuals can really get to the next level in their life.
