The business side of practicing law is very different than being a lawyer. And it is not uncommon for someone to be in my position to be an extraordinarily gifted trial lawyer, and then kinda suck at business, because we are so kind, we are so generous, we want to help everybody, we don’t cut corners, when it comes to case costs, we spend more than we probably should because we want to win and we want to get the best. So, running a business and being an amazing trial lawyer are kinda not the same thing. So, its very important in life that you know what your limitations are and what your weaknesses are. I am not a great business man. So, what I have done, is I’ve, I have someone, another lawyer who is running the business side. That’s his talent, is managing the employees, managing cases, making sure we’re not wasting money, making sure we’re taking the right cases where we can make the biggest impact. And that leaves me free to be the trial lawyer that I am. So, its just really important that if you want a successful business, maybe recognize that that’s not your forte and hire someone else to help you with that, or, if that is your forte, hire someone who’s more interested in being the trial lawyer or managing the cases. You know, it’s a team effort.
