Arash Homampour:
One of the interesting things that has happened during this pandemic, and you’ll see, aside from learning how to bake sourdough bread, is a lot of people have had the time to sit back, reflect, and really consider and evaluate what is their passion? What are they up to in life? And a lot of people have quit their jobs, started new careers, started new hobbies. And really it’s a beautiful thing that’s happened in the context of this horrible tragedy. Is that COVID-19 and the pandemic has allowed us to really stop time, and really just reassess what’s important for us, and really get an opportunity to focus on maybe some of the things we’ve been passionate about that we’ve never had the time to even think about, let alone pursue.
And for me, one of my passions has always been music. Since I was a little kid, I’ve always wanted to be a rockstar. And if anyone knows me, I basically translated that into being the de facto rockstar in the trial lawyer world. But I’m never going to give up on my dreams. I have three children and I really always want to impress upon them that you can do whatever you want at any time if you put your mind to it. It sounds like a cliche, but it really the truth, and especially when it’s something that you’re passionate about and lights you up.
So I love music. I love deejaying. And so one of the things that I’ve done during this downtime is that I’ve really focused on becoming a better DJ and becoming a better music producer. In fact, I produce music in a genre of house music called tech house. And using this downtime, I’ve produced a track, and it’s going to be released in January. And I’m super excited about sharing my music and my love for music with the rest of the world.
And starting a DJ career, obviously it’s not going to take away from me being a trial lawyer because that’s what I was put on this earth to do. But in my downtime, it wouldn’t hurt to release some music and make people smile and make people enjoy their day or give them a couple of beats that gets them through the night. And so that’s what I’ve been doing with this downtime. And I’m really excited at some point to share that with you. My new track should be coming out in January.
