In 2019, during voir dire at Chatsworth Courthouse, Arash Homampour and Danielle Lincors obtained a $5,000,000 settlement against LAUSD in a tough liability and damages case.
Our client (Plaintiff) was a motorcyclist that was driving to work when he collided into a school bus that was making a left in a school zone. He sustained a traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures throughout the right side of his body. Defendants argued that Plaintiff was speeding because he was within a school zone, in the presence of children, and during school hours. Defendants’ position was that if Plaintiff was not speeding, he would have avoided impact. Further, Defendants disputed Plaintiff’s traumatic brain injury and argued that Plaintiff’s injuries were pre-existing and exaggerated.
Using Defendant LAUSD’s own experts against them, we showed that it was actually the Defendant school bus driver who endangered everyone on the bus and on the road when he made a reckless left turn cutting off a plainly visible motorcyclist who had the right of way.
Nothing sums up this case better than the words from our client himself: “Thank you for your hard work and professionalism. Thank you for your great support. Will remember for life.”
